She is dying, save her

Save mother Earth!!

Save mother Earth!!

This is the shout of some advocates who are concerned for our world today. But the thing is, are they noticed? Are they heard? Well, the answer is YES of course. With their exposure in media, public could really spot them. Are those words considered? YES again. People consider the thought of saving Earth, yet too lazy to put that thought into action.

God made the world including us, and we are entitled to take good care of his creations. But what have we done? We just disappointed him. We lived in this world abusing his kindness.

Before, kids could swim into the rivers, but now, they are not allowed to do so because the clean water has gone and turned into a dirty one. Even other kids do not do it because in their small minds, they already know what’s good for bathing, and what’s not. Before, people could only see big trees, with branches full of green leaves. Now, we could still see them of course, but there are these big buildings blocking our sight. Even animals suffer the cruelty of humans. We can hear news from time to time about endangered species, and that’s very alarming.

Look around you, look around your surroundings. Do you have the same or close number of plants and vegetables as sung in the song “Bahay Kubo”? Is your backyard clean? Can you still sing “Row Your Boat” nowadays, which says “row, row, row your boat GENTLY down the stream”, or you can’t even row because of the trashes blocked in that small river.

You see, our nature is the mirror of what kind of citizens we are. It reflects the kind of people living in that area.

The good thing is, it’s not too late for us to save the world. I believe, as long as there’s life, there’s hope, hope that must be converted into action. I know that doing such thing is really hard, but always remember, SMALL THINGS CAN DO WONDERS. You can start it by throwing your garbage properly, if you can’t see any trash cans from where you are, put it in your pocket or bag first until you see trash bins. You can simply water the plants, plant trees, and there are a lot of things that you can do.

As what our teacher said, our world needs sustainable development. This is an economic development without polluting our environment. This just means that, as inhabitants of this world, we get our needs from our nature, yet think for the next generation.

Yes. The only thing that’s constant in this world is CHANGE. But I do hope that this change is for the betterment of us, our society, our country, and our world, MOTHER EARTH.
